Our Specialised Grade R Programme

We understand that the transition from preschool to primary school can be a significant step. While following a more structured timetable to gently prepare them for the formal learning of Grade 1, our Grade R learners still have ample time and space to run, play, and explore, ensuring their natural childhood joy is preserved.

In Grade R, children build strong foundations in emergent reading, writing, and early mathematical concepts (addition and subtraction), alongside engaging physical education and other enriching activities. That's why our preschool remains open during these periods, offering a comprehensive holiday-care programme at no additional cost. We are closed only for a specified period during December and January, ensuring maximum convenience for you.

Our school fees thoughtfully include a delicious lunch and an afternoon snack, all freshly prepared daily in our hygienic, on-site kitchen. Meals are delivered directly to classrooms, ensuring timely and convenient service. We meticulously accommodate allergies and other dietary requirements, and for severe cases, we may request a medical letter to ensure our kitchen staff can provide the safest and most accurate meal preparation for your child.

Flexible Mornings for a Gentle Start

We appreciate the challenges of a busy commute. To ease your mornings, our doors open early, welcoming children with warmth and care. Your child will be greeted by their dedicated teachers or teacher’s assistants, enjoying a period of engaging free play before our structured preschool programme joyfully begins.

At Curro Aurora, we encourage active play, knowing that running, climbing, and exploring are vital for development. While minor bumps and bruises are sometimes part of this joyous exploration, rest assured that our entire staff is meticulously trained in first aid. Your child’s safety is our paramount concern. Please note, in adherence to national regulations, teachers are prohibited from dispensing any medicine, including over-the-counter or herbal remedies, without a valid prescription signed by a medical doctor. Therefore, if your child requires medication during the day, our qualified first-aid officers will administer it in class only upon presentation of a valid prescription.
