Curro Langebaan learner Kyle Snyder flew the South African flag high at the African Aquatics Zone IV Swimming Championships in Eswatini, held 3–7 September, delivering standout performances across backstroke, freestyle and relays.

A record-setting start

Snyder opened his campaign in style on Day 1, winning the 100 m backstroke and breaking the championship recordin 1:00.47. He then helped Team South Africa to gold in the medley relay, and added a superb silver in the 800 m freestyle.

More gold on Day 2

On Day 2, Snyder dominated the 200 m backstroke, taking gold and lowering the meet record to 2:11.23. He closed the day by contributing to another relay gold for South Africa in the 4 × 100 m freestyle.
