We are committed to providing learners with an excellent education. That is why our approach to teaching the national CAPS curriculum is based on project-based learning and self-discovery. As an IEB school, this approach allows our high school learners to explore the learning material beyond just the textbook through research, experiments and assignments, while still preparing them for their exams in Grade 12. Regular assessments and tests still take place, but it’s important to us that learners can use their intellectual abilities to make the material real to them in some way. This teaches them to take initiative and make connections between pieces of knowledge – which further develops critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
As part of the Curro school group, learners enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Nearby primary and high IEB schools include Curro Hazeldean and Curro Online, which is a fully online school for learners who might thrive in a home-based environment.
Our senior phase starts by helping Grade 8 learners grow accustomed to the greater workload of higher intensity in high school. We limit the number of learners in each class to ensure that they get individual attention in exactly the places they need. Our learners also receive guidance when choosing their elective subjects at the end of Grade 9. From Grade 10, we prepare learners for the IEB exams in Grade 12. However, we focus on more than just assessments, by applying the work to real-life situations. This helps learners to understand the work much better, and further empowers them with knowledge and skills to become the leaders of the future.
Teaching takes place in English, and learners can choose Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa and Sepedi as additional language options.
Our learners can choose elective subjects beyond what is offered at our school. These subjects take place digitally and are presented live by Curro teachers. Lessons are scheduled during the school day, with supervised self-directed sessions after hours. These subjects can be seen as an extension of the excellent Curro education your child gets with us, and they still write the IEB exam at the end of Grade 12.

In addition, we are an IEB school and have a door-to-door transport service. Our school philosophy is based on Christian values (ethics and morals) and incorporates academics, sport, culture, and community in our holistic approach.
The development of our school already started in 1998 with the acquisition of the 14-ha property from the developers of Woodhill Residential Golf Estate. In March 1999 we officially announced our school’s big opening. Building work started in 2000 and included the administration centre, the foundation phase section, amphitheatre and learner lounge (which for a long period was the hall) and general block A (library, computer centre, music room and laboratory). When the doors opened at the end of January 2001, there were 236 learners enrolled from Group 4 to Grade 9, with a staff complement of 33 and 2021 marked our 20th anniversary
Today the constructed buildings are in excess of 12 500 m², with the capacity to accommodate 1 730 learners. As part of the Curro school group, we are growing from strength to strength and will always remain innovative and progressive in our approach to offer an excellent education to your child.
