Curro Secunda has a primary school in Secunda, Mpumalanga, that provides high-quality education to learners from Grade R to Grade 7, with a focus on developing 21st-century skills. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum (which includes the use of tablets in class) empower learners with skills and knowledge to grow into self-confident individuals. With dedicated teachers and small class sizes, our foundation phase starts by providing the emotional and intellectual foundation required to handle the formal learning that starts in Grade 1. Through our enhanced curriculum, we then gradually develop learners’ 21st-century skills and knowledge in basic areas such as language (comprehension, speaking and listening), mathematics (counting and understanding numbers), and creative problem-solving, in an environment to which they enjoy coming. Furthermore, as a Curro School, Robotics and chess form part of the curriculum, and we create opportunities for personal growth so that learners can become personally responsible and accountable for their actions in the intermediate phase. In these grades, learners are taught to work with the learned material in an abstract manner. The nature of the content gradually builds from being tangible and real to more intellectual and abstract. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum provide learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence, as well as 21st-century skills through specialised subjects such as Natural Sciences and Technology (including Robotics). At Curro Secunda, we believe in helping all learners reach their full potential. Therefore, we offer extra classes on Wednesdays to assist learners who may need extra academic support.

Our aftercare service is available for learners from Grade R to Grade 4, at an additional cost, as stipulated on our school fees letter (see Downloads). Learners are accommodated in safe classrooms and playgrounds, and the fees include a freshly prepared meal for lunch, homework support, fun playtime and educational worksheets. Our transport service travels to the following nearby areas: Evander Secunda Trichardt Embalenhle As a Curro School, we have created a safe, modern environment in which children can grow accustomed to learning and working with modern equipment and facilities. Our classrooms are designed to create a feeling of learning through educational decorations, but without causing undue distraction. Classrooms for specialised subjects, such as Natural Sciences and Technology (including Robotics), are equipped with the latest technology and tools that provide learners with 21st-century skills and allow them to interact with the learned material through experiments or projects. Other excellent classrooms include a Robotics lab, Science lab, and fully equipped IT classroom. Our wide variety of activities and events is hosted on state-of-the-art courts and fields to promote the development of 21st-century skills. Our sports facilities are accessible to primary and high school learners. Our well-equipped and spacious music school allows learners to be taught using a variety of instruments and techniques, to develop their skills.
