In the senior phase, we guide learners to adjust to a greater workload of higher intensity. With dedicated teachers, our enhanced curriculum approach places great emphasis on problem-solving and individual thinking. Teaching in our controlled class sizes takes place in English, but Afrikaans and isiZulu are offered as additional language options. We implement 21st-century skills in subjects such as Natural Sciences and Technology. As a Curro Academy school, our learners also receive guidance when choosing their elective subjects at the end of Grade 9.
The FET phase prepares learners for the NSC examinations written at the end of Grade 12. However, through our enhanced curriculum we emphasise a greater world-readiness rather than a purely examination-driven approach. Learners in our controlled class sizes are taught to think innovatively, express their ideas and take charge of their own lives to be valued members of the community. Learners further benefit from having Afrikaans and isiZulu as additional language options, and 21st-century skills are implemented in subjects such as Physical Sciences and Computer Applications Technology (CAT).
High school learners can now extend their subject choices beyond what is offered at our school. Learners can choose from a wide range of subjects, and classes will take place during the school day in the form of live lessons with teachers. These subjects can be seen as an extension of our Curro education from which our learners already benefit. Learners remain enrolled at our school, assessments and tests still take place, and the marks reflect on their regular progress reports. Find out which subjects are available, and gain more information about this personalised learning experience.
As a Curro school, we believe that participation in activities plays an important role in promoting health, discipline, self-confidence and community. Therefore, our focused activities are designed to help learners discover their inherent talents, or to broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. Some of our activities are aimed at boosting learners’ cognitive abilities, while others provide pure enjoyment. We also offer value-added programmes as part of the school fees that include character-building programmes, career guidance and entrepreneurship skills.
At Curro Savanna City, we also offer Curro Arts Superhero (CAS) as part of the Curro Create initiative. CAS is an internal creative mentorship platform with a grading element, where learners are encouraged to discover, develop and display their inherent creative talents.

Facilities
Children learn best in a fun, supportive environment where they form an active part of the learning process. As a Curro school, this environment is built by several factors, including the classroom’s appearance. Our Curro high school classrooms are designed to be visually pleasing without causing undue distraction, while our dedicated teachers explain or present our enhanced curriculum with enthusiasm and passion in small class sizes.
However, the most engaging principle is project-based learning, which guides learners to learn the material through their own research and discovery. Rather than simply reading information from a textbook, the information is learned by interacting with the material through assignments, research, discussions, or creative projects.
As a Curro school, our school’s sports facilities are designed to accommodate a variety of activities on the premises. Our sports facilities include a swimming pool, five-a-side soccer turf, a rugby field, and two netball/tennis courts.
