We are committed to providing learners with a high-quality education. That is why our approach to teaching the national CAPS curriculum is based on project-based learning and self-discovery. This approach helps learners use their intellectual abilities to explore the learning material in a manner that makes it real to them somehow. Our foundation phase starts by teaching the basic foundations on which all further learning is based, namely language, mathematics, and life skills. In the intermediate phase, the work becomes less tangible or real, and more abstract. Learners start with project-based learning, which means they do research, assignments, and experiments to explore the material outside just the textbook. Identifying any academic challenges early on can help to bring learners back on track even before they risk falling behind. Therefore, we conduct prep tests on the same material that formative assessments would cover, to ensure that learners perform as best they can during these assessments. We also have individualised intervention sessions to identified learners and we run study methods to help learners achieve overall. One part of the excellent Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. Participation in activities promote team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Our focused variety of activities, such as biathlon, public speaking and an MTB club, are tailored to the interests of learners in our area. Your child is sure to find something that will pique their interest. See which activities we offer on our fact sheet.
