About the school
Welcome to Curro Baobab Primary School
Curro Baobab is a primary school situated in Gaborone West, Botswana, offering the internationally recognised Cambridge curriculum to learners from Reception (ages 4–5) through to Year 7. As part of the Curro school group, we are proud to provide a high-quality, future-focused education in a supportive and nurturing environment.
We limit our class sizes to ensure personalised attention for every learner. Teaching takes place in English, with Setswana and French offered as additional language subjects. Learners are also exposed to a broad subject offering that includes Robotics, Coding, music, Agriculture, and more.
The Cambridge Curriculum
At Curro Baobab, we follow the Cambridge Primary curriculum for Years 1 to 7. This internationally recognised curriculum, developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education at the University of Cambridge in England, is known for its high academic standards and progressive learning approach.
The curriculum follows a spiral learning model, where topics are revisited and expanded upon over time, helping learners deepen their understanding and build strong academic foundations. Its assessment style and progression system are distinct from local curricula and are valued by schools worldwide.
Learning That Grows With Your Child
In the early years, learners benefit from a play-based learning approach that supports physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, and communication development. As learners progress, they are gradually challenged with increased reading and writing demands, creative problem-solving, collaboration, and independent learning.
Older learners are encouraged to develop self-discipline, time-management skills, responsibility, and confidence as they prepare for future academic success.
